About Bequia:
Bequia is a beautiful Island 7
x 3 miles and is part of a group of 32 Island, only
a few of which are inhabited forming the Country
of St. Vincent and the Grenadines. It lies in a
chain of Islands called the Windward Islands and
is 100 miles west of Barbados, 60 miles north of
Grenada and 40 miles south of St. Lucia.
Bequia has a population of approximately
6000 people, it has both an airport with flights
to St. Vincent and Barbados and ferry dock where
ferries depart several times a day to the capital
City of Kingstown, St. Vincent.

Bequia is a part of the independent
country of St. Vincent & the Grenadines, which
was originally a colony of England and is still
a member of the British Commonwealth. The government
is based on the British parliamentary system with
a Prime Minister who is head of the political part
with the majority of elected representatives in
the House of Parliament. Democratic elections are
held at least every five years. The Queen's Representative
for the Commonwealth is the Governor General whose
powers are largely ceremonial.
